Wherever possible, we transfer funds directly to hospitals, suppliers, or diagnostic centres. For household payments (nutrition, travel), verified transfers to families may be used and documented.

Currently, over 63,000 people need kidney transplants, and around 22,000 need liver transplants in India. Yet, only up to 18,900 transplants are performed each year, highlighting a significant gap between need and supply.

Does Care Guru Foundation raise funds for long-term medications and rehabilitation?
Yes, we fund post-op physiotherapy, occupational and speech therapy, prosthetics, long-term meds and follow-up when those are essential to restore function and quality of life.
How does delaying curative care surgeries or treatments affect outcomes?
Delays in initiating or completing treatment can greatly worsen outcomes. Studies show even 4-week delays in cancer care are linked with higher mortality; for many conditions, timely surgery or ICU stay is critical. That’s why timely care matters.
How will my donation be used for curative care?
Your contributions are applied to verified medical campaigns raising funds for surgeries and ICU costs, rehabilitation and reconstructive procedures, or any necessary indirect costs. To ensure 100% transperancy, we provide regular fund utilization reports so donors can see how funds were spent.
Are my donations tax-deductible?
Yes, donations (of INR 500 or above) are eligible for tax exemption under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act, post declaration of the donor’s PAN and address details before the end of the financial year in which the donation was made.

We verify medical records, doctors’ prescriptions and curative treatment cost estimates through our Trust & Safety team, and (where needed) partner hospital confirmations before launching online fundraisers or disbursing funds.
Should families use insurance or government schemes first?
Yes. We encourage using insurance and schemes like Ayushman Bharat/PMJAY, wherever eligible — Care Guru Foundation steps in to cover gaps like co-payments, non-covered procedures, indirect expenses, and more.
